What does a blog have to have
- Is a blog a comment? Are we using this blog to comment on our work our research or our feelings (well I must admit I am not sure that the group would cope with 12 weeks of my mental state ……..)
- Is this blog to investigate how we could use a blog in the classroom?
- Does a blog have to be available to the outside world. Could we just block all comments.
- Would writing work on a blog encourage better written work from students?
- How many blogs can you have?
Re. your question “does a blog have to be available to the outside world” – I’d say “No”. It can be a very useful way of organising material & diary etc., much more searchable than paper.
It’s possible to have a webserver & WordPress (Or, I assume any other blogging software) on a USB stick – so you can take it with you as a diary & never have to think about private URLs etc. http://tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/usb/
