Talking to the darkness

to be creative or….to teach

On some days teaching can be amazingly creative. Something works and suddenly students are away in a world of their own and all you need to do is guide them. At other times students get lost they curl up and reject everything. Then again there is the day when the teacher just fails to connect with anybody. My day was yesterday. Was it the room? The lack of working computers? the idea or a general class dynamic? On paper the concept was ok but in class it fell onto the floor was rejected and the students started to argue with each other. Never to be put off I change track re organised divided up the group and found tasks for all to do. At the end it still felt like swimming through porridge!!
